\"\"<\/a>There was a different thing during Widya Kartika University\u2019s (Uwika) 22nd<\/sup> graduation ceremony for undergraduate and the 9th<\/sup> for diploma III Saturday, November 24, 2012. In addition to the sacred graduation ceremony, there was also an Internal Launching of Chinese Education Department (S1) in the end of the event.<\/p>\n

Uwika Rector Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc. said, the opening of this department had been a dream and effort from many parties. “For that, we want to deliver our gratitude profusely to the founders and initiators. So, after such a long struggle, Chinese Education Department\u2019s (S1) realization can be done,” he said.<\/p>\n

Dozens of names that had a stake in the birth of the department were invited to the event. They were asked to put their signature as the inscription on the existence of “new member” in Uwika\u2019s big family. There was also Chairman of the Yayasan Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Indonesia (YPPI), Drs. Kresnayana Yahya, M.Sc.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The launching was celebrated with lion attraction (barongsai). Four players who wore two lion costumes showed their skills in front of the graduates, Uwika\u2019s officials, invitations, as well as parents of the graduates. Accompanied by a distinctive music, the show got a standing ovation.<\/p>\n

After the lion dance (barongsai) attractions, Uwika\u2019s Rector with the Chairman and representatives from YPPI beat drums together. It was a sign of the new department launching procession. “General Launching will be done as soon as possible,” he added.<\/p>\n

In the beginning, prospective students of S1 ??Chinese Department who are alumni of Uwika will receive a special scholarship. They will get a special facility which is a 100 percent free development fee scholarship. Thus, prospective students will have to pay tuition fees only.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>However, for prospective new students who are not alumni, during this early period, Uwika still provides special programs. There are several reasons in choosing Chinese Language Education Department (S1) in Uwika. First, at this time, this department is the LEADER in eastern Indonesia. Second, lecturers who lead the department come from China. The local lecturers are also graduates from Negeri Tirai Bambu<\/em>. Thus, the quality is not in doubt. Third, Uwika has had cooperation with leading universities in China.
