The Opening of futsal competition as a part of Widya Kartika University’s Open House 2012 Kartika was done Wednesday, November 7, 2012. The festive atmosphere could be felt at the Futsal Arena Goal, Mangga Dua, Jagir, Surabaya. Dozens of participants and supporters went to the arena to see the match.
Like watching normal football match, the supporters also equipped themselves with attributes. In fact, some brought drums to boost their favorite team’s spirit. Various slogans were shouted during the match to make the atmosphere become more exciting.
On the first day, the organizers had scheduled 25 matches. The opening match was between Kalam Kudus Senior High School vs. Santo Yusup Senior High School. The cheering supporters were burst when the kick off whistle blown. This match was led by Yoyok as the referee.

Overall, the competition titled UwikArt-FM Istara Futsal Competition was followed by 27 teams. They came from high school students and vocational schools in Surabaya such as Wachid Hayim, Stella Maris, Petra 1 High Schools, SMAN 5 Surabaya, SMAN 20 Surabaya, and many more. “The total of participants was 270 persons. The supporters who came at that time were around 120, “said Aditya, the event organizer. He explained that the rules used in the competition were adopted from professional competition standards. ” the duration for each game is 10 minutes,” he said.
