Awards by awards continued to flow on to the hands of Dedy Raharjo, Widya Kartika University student (Uwika). The dance champion who had triumphed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for once again won the title. This time, his achievement was in the national arena.
Not long ago, Dedy won three prestigious titles at the Dance National Championships VII. Activities were held by Executive Committee of Dance Sport Association of Indonesia (IODI) in Ambassador Ballroom at Plaza Semarang, Semarang, Central Java, November 15, 2012. This Accounting Department Students was confirmed as champion of the category Beginner Rumba and Cha Cha, and Beginner Jive Champion II. On that occasion, he was paired with Luisa Verdiana S, students of Karitas III senior high school.
Dedy was determined to be able to reach the highest achievement in the dance world. Therefore, he and his partner had to prepare as well as possible. However, in the championship this time, he was forced to be more able to adapt quickly because Dedy performed with a new partner. “We are just paired together in this new event. It is a challenge, “he said.
Indeed, when competing in the national championship, Dedy did not perform with his previous partner when he won five major achievements in the world championship because Ervina Lukmanto, the partner who was also studying at Uwika, is completing her studies in China. Inevitably, Dedy should be able to perform optimally even with new partner.
While dancing with a new partner, he could prove the best performance. It could be a little smoother because Dedy and his new partner had mastered basic dance. “So, be creative and improvise movement are the only things we have to do. For me, the important thing is to do as hard as possible, with any partner, “added the man who admitted starting this hobby since high school.
Not only Dedy’s achievements. Liang Yohanna, Mandarin Department’s student of Uwika also reached an achievement. She received the title of VI champion in the class of Pre Amateur Latin. In the performance, the girl who was born on November 17 was paired with Daniel Dimitri Adventus.
The Dance National Championship VII IODI brought together all athletes from across the country. In that event, the dance team of Central Java became the best champion with the most medals, followed by East Java team in the second position and West Java in the third place.
Later on, precisely December 15, 2012 Dedy will follow another dance competition which is the National Championship Dance I U-21 in Yogyakarta. The event will again gather dance athletes throughout Indonesia with certain age restrictions. “Yesterday, (National Championship in Semarang) it’s for all ages. The next one is only for 21 years mostly. It will still be divided in several categories, “said Dedy.
The plan, Dedy and her partner will compete in 13 classes. Five of them are beginner classes. “Hopefully I can stand until the end,” he joked.
