Annawati Sutanto, a student from Accounting Department of Widya Kartika University (Uwika), successfully elected as President of the Student Executive Board (BEM) in the period 2012/2013. Annawati managed to obtain 47 votes in the Great Council (Mubes)-BLM BEM Uwika, Thursday, June 7, 2012.
Annawati beat her two competitors, each of which John Cahya Hartanto of Architecture and Liang Yohanna from Mandarin. John gained 37 votes and 41 votes for Yohanna. A total of 18 votes declared invalid.
the Mubes was followed by 143 students and the Uwika Uwika Rector, Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc., Vice Rectors, Drs. Darmanto, M.Sc., and Dra. Felicia O. Koeswanto Dien, deans, and the head of faculties. In his speech, the Rector stated that a leader did not have to stand in front. There were three kinds leadership that must be equiped by the President of the BEM Uwika such as responsible, open and clear leadership.leadership.
BEM Uwika new president elected, Annawati, will replace David Marbun. She will be effective as of the date of August 18, 2012. Before the last election, all the candidates described their visions and missions in front of the university and the students in attendance.
In his presentation, Annawati said that her vision was developing the Widya Kartika University’s name in all aspects of society
Her missions were: (1) Conducting an internal students program to foster students’ competition spirit and togetherness among them, (2) Active in following activities organized by external parties, (3) Participating in the improvement of student achievement, (4) Involving students to actively participate in social activities.
