Reward for Highest GPA 3.926
This year, the University of Widya Kartika (Uwika) once again graduated their students. The graduation procession was held on November 24, 2012 at the Grand Ballroom Mirama Mercure Hotel. A total of 144 students were graduated with the Widya Kartika University Senate Open Meeting.
Besides Uwika’s academic members, the event was also attended by graduates’ family, foundation officials, and invited guests from a number of colleagues. In the occasion, Uwika also gave some awards, such as Widya Kartika Wira Ksatria Utama, Widya Kartika Wira Ksatria, Widya Kartika Cendikia Bakti, Widya Kartika Nayaka Bakti, Widya Kartika Kirana Budi, Widya Kartika Jasa Cendikia, Widya Kartika Cendikia Madya, and Widya Kartika Cendikia Pratama. Those awards were given to a number of lecturers, best graduate, and institutions/companies. It was as a token of Uwika’s appreciation for accomplishments and good cooperation so far.
From the graduates, four were declared as the best graduates. One of them was awarded because getting the highest GPA. He was Marcos Tanuwijaya, student from Accounting Department with 3.926 GPA. While the other three were Ongky Pratama Putra, SE Management Department with a GPA of 3.834, Andreas CT, ST with 3.606 GPA from Information Engineering Department, and Jong Soek Lan, A.Md. with 3.741 GPA Mandarin Department. The four graduates got the title cum laude.
Meanwhile, from the cooperative side, several institutions and companies also obtained the award, for example, Bank OCBC NISP, Adi Foundation Services, Pharma Mar, Chongqing Normal University, Coordinating Institution of East Java Chinese Education, Confucius Institute, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and the Institute of Technology Assessment (Lemjiantek) Kodiklat TNI-AD. Not only that. Uwika’s Security Corps also obtained award from Lemjiantek Kodiklat TNI-AD Army School of Technology TNI-AD. It was awarded for their participation in climbing Mount Panderman, in the area of Wisata Batu (KWB), East Java.
After the graduation, the graduates are expected to join directly in the community process. In addition, they are encouraged to take part in building the nation through science that has been gained during the lecture.
