Two Lecturers from Widya Kartika University (Uwika) are entrusted to be mentors for students from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). They are Dr. Melvin Pristyo, SE., MM., MBA., and Budi Hermawan, SE., MTCSOL. The appointment handover was done by MR. Li Hemin as the Director of the Faculty Affairs Committee GDUFS to Uwika’s Lecturers on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

According to Budi, this appointment was just made this year. This was related to the signing of MoU conducted last May, between Uwika and GDUFS. “This MoU will be valid until 2016,” he said.

He explained that, technically, a mentor can guide some GDUFS students who come from China who are in internship in Uwika since their number is big enough. “We’ll adjust to the conditions later on,” added the man who serves as the Head of Chinese Department.

During the visit, the GDUFS delegation was represented by four persons. Besides MR. Li Hemin, there were also MR. Li Jiang, MRS. Yuan Quan, and MS. Peng Shuli. The meeting between the two leaders of institutions lasted warmly. From Uwika, there are Rector, Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc.; Vice Rector I, Drs. Darmanto, M.Sc.; Vice Rector II, Dra. Felicia O. Dien Koeswanto, and of course lecturers from Mandarin Study Program.

Rector said that because the dedication in education shown by GDUFS, Uwika will nominate the university as one of the award recipients. “We invite the representatives from Guangdong University to attend the graduation ceremony this November 24th because Guangdong University has become one of the nominees will be rewarded, “he said.

Groups from Jiangmen

Earlier, October 30, Uwika was also got guests from Negeri Tirai Bambu. The group came from the city of Jiangmen. They were leaders of Jiangmen Kindergarten Teachers Training School. The Representatives from the city’s Education Department were also participated in the trip.
